Katrina Beavan
Katrina got her start with the ABC covering the 2010/2011 floods in her hometown of Rockhampton while still at university.
After completing a dual degree at the University of Queensland in Journalism and Arts with an extended major in Spanish, she then decided to put her language skills to good use, working for both radio and television in Bolivia and Argentina.
However, having a great affinity for the ABC, she returned to Australia to produce the ABC Regional Afternoon program in Rockhampton, before moving to Bunbury, WA, to produce the drive program.
She then ventured cross country again, this time to the outback, working as the field reporter, rural reporter and then news reporter in Alice Springs over five years.
After taking time off to have a baby she then decided to return to her roots, working as a news reporter in Rockhampton for ABC Capricornia.
