Residents urged to conserve water after treatment plant fix
Some residents in south-west Victoria are still being asked to limit their water usage after problems at a treatment plant yesterday.
Grampians Wimmera Mallee (GWM) Water says it is still working out what caused a power outage at the plant, affecting more than 400 homes and businesses in Willaura and Lake Bolac.
GWM Water spokesman Andrew Rose says technicians have fixed the problem but he says they are still asking locals to reduce their water usage until 3:00pm (AEDT).
"The crisis from our perspective has passed and we thank customers for that but at the same time, we would encourage sensible water use and if there are any activities that people are engaged in that are going to use a lot of water, that perhaps they consider delaying that," he said.
