Learn English is a free service that provides lessons and articles to anyone learning English as a second language (ESL).
What is TV Education?
ABC TV Education provides curriculum-matched programming for primary and secondary students. It screens weekdays (10am–12pm) during the school term or can be found on demand at iview Education.
What is the Australian Curriculum?
The Australian Curriculum sets the expectation for what all young Australians should be taught, regardless of where they live or their background. Schools, states and territories are responsible for developing their own plan to implement the Curriculum along with support programs for teachers.
What is the ‘Foundation’ year?
'Foundation' is the Australian Curriculum term for the first year of formal schooling.
Is there anything here for Year 11-12 teachers or students?
Although resources on ABC Education have been selected specifically for Foundation–Year 10, you may also find content that's useful for Year 11 and 12.

Why won’t videos play at my school?
Some school IT departments block certain video platforms to limit network usage.
If you can't play our videos then this is probably because the player is being blocked.
If this is the case in your school or education department, you need to ask your IT team to unblock the following domains in the firewall which will allow video content to be played.

Why is some content blocked outside Australia?
Due to rights restrictions, some content is geo-blocked to Australia and its territories.
Why do I receive a geoblock message in Australia?
There may be several explanations for this:
- You're using a VPN, placing your IP address overseas. Please turn off your VPN.
- Your firewall or proxy server is blocking parts of the website. See above: “Why won’t my videos play at school?”
- The setup of your school network is causing problems. Please contact your schools IT team.
