Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians, and it can start with small steps. In National Reconciliation Week 2021, Play School share ‘Walking Together’ - a new special episode fostering children’s early understandings about our shared histories and the role we all play in building relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and futures.

Hunter and Rachael walk us through this journey with songs, art and imaginative play. Emma Donovan joins Rachael for the story and goes walking on Country with Kiya and Little Ted. Developed in partnership with Reconciliation Australia, SNAICC, AIATSIS, ANTaR and The Koori Curriculum, Walking Together will contribute to this very important conversation for our youngest citizens.

National Sorry Day is held every year on the 26th of May. Sorry Day is a day to think about how Indigenous people have been treated in Australia. Indigenous Australians are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and for a long time, governments made lots of rules that were really unfair to them, rules that hurt their communities. Sorry Day is about recognising the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and looking at how we can all help make things better for the future together.
