This week the Reserve Bank had its first chance to show how well it could perform in the wake of a once-in-a-generation review of its practices. It began with an interest rates decision on Tuesday, followed by a live press conference, the early publication of economic forecasts, and today, an appearance by the governor before a parliamentary committee. That's quite a week. The whole point is to increase people's understanding of how the RBA works but has it already backfired?
