Human remains found near Warrnambool train tracks in south-west Victoria

Human remains have been found near a railway line in Warrnambool, south-west Victoria.
The bones were discovered about 10am on Wednesday morning at Gladstone Street, near the railway line and the cemetery.
The area was cordoned off and police were in attendance at the scene about midday.
Acting Sergeant Ben Timpson said the human bones were uncovered by workers digging a hole for a retaining wall.
He confirmed the bones were human.
"There will be ongoing enquiries into the identification of the bones [and] whose they are," he said.
The remains will be transported to the coroner's office for examination.
