Christopher Nolan may finally win his first Oscar, as atomic bomb hit Oppenheimer takes the lead with 13 Oscar nominations, including leading actor and supporting actress.
Although Barbie was nominated for eight awards, including best picture, fans of the film were shocked to see Margot Robbie snubbed for best actress.
Look back at how ABC readers and other Australians responded to this live moment.

We'll wrap things up here. I don't know about you, but I'll be blasting the Barbie soundtrack for the rest of the day to drown out my RAGE at Margot and Greta being overlooked.
We'll see you on Monday, March 11 right here on the ABC News website where we'll be live blogging the Academy Awards, so you can keep up with all the winners and losers.
See you then!
Emerald Fennell's Saltburn polarised a lot of folks: some thought it was fun, others the best movie they had ever seen, and some people just totally hated it.
But it was no dice for the Academy Awards, scoring not one nomination.
Air, All of Us Strangers, Ferrari and Origin also completely missed out on a single nomination.
It's not all bad news.
For the first time ever, three of the 10 films nominated for Best Picture — Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall, Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Celine Song's Past Lives — were directed by women, which is the most in the Oscar's 96-year history.
It goes without saying, but this is so overdue!
Interestingly, only Justine Triet was nominated for Best Director.
Wondering what this is? Join us next time we're live and be part of the discussion.
Lily Gladstone, star of Killers of the Flower Moon, became the first Native American nominated for best actress, while her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio missed out on best actor.
