What’s in a name?

Emily Kam Kngwarray is undoubtedly one of the most influential and acclaimed artists of the 20th century - both here and abroad. Despite this, she’s often casually referred to as simply Emily.

Co-curators Kelli Cole and Hetti Perkins will take you through their blockbuster exhibition at the National Gallery celebrating Kngwarray as it sets the record straight.

Then, Derik Lynch and Matthew Lynch discuss their short film Marungka Tjalatjunu (Dipped in Black).

It was a darling of the Berlin International Film Festival in 2023, and like the name suggests it immerses you in Derik’s Blackness.

Plus for Word Up,  you’ll meet our new language champion Tamara Pearson. She's an artist, choreographer and mentor from Hope Vale in far north Queensland.
