Perth man charged after thousands of dollars in cash found strewn across Mitchell Freeway

Police said they received multiple reports from the public around 9:30pm on Monday night in Connolly.
WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch said up to $40,000 in cash was found blowing around the freeway.
"It's like the cash cow had come out, and there was cash flying everywhere," he told radio station 6PR.
"There's no more money on the freeway … let's not go there."
Commissioner Blanch thanked the public for alerting police to the money.
"There was lots of money seen thrown across the Mitchell Freeway and members of the public did in fact come forward and hand some of that cash that they picked up," he said.
Police attending the incident spotted a car parked on the roadside and spoke with the male driver.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers seized 51 grams of cocaine and $8,000 in cash.
They charged a 34-year-old man from Clarkson with possession of cocaine with intent to sell or supply, possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and having no authority to drive.
He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Police are still investigating the incident, saying a tow truck and motorcycle were also observed in the area at the time.
