Two decades on from the Rose Revolution, the former Soviet republic of Georgia is at a crossroads.

This month, the European Council will vote on whether to confirm Georgia as a candidate to join the EU, a move supported by the vast majority of Georgian citizens.

But Georgia’s powerful northern neighbour, Russia, continues to cast a shadow over its European future.
