Hamas rockets and fighters attack Israeli towns and cities

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the country is at war, as it responds to a coordinated attack from Hamas fighters and rockets fired from the Gaza Strip.

A day after the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, Palestinian fighters infiltrated Israeli towns and opened fire on residents 

Israeli public radio is reporting hundreds of people have been killed and over a thousand injured.

The Israeli military is striking targets in the Gaza Strip.
