RBA unlikely to ease pain with eighth rate hike

Anyone under the weight of a big mortgage will have their eyes and ears fixed on tomorrow's meeting of the Reserve Bank board.

The last decision before Christmas is widely expected to deliver the eighth rate hike since May.

But could signs of softening inflation allow the RBA to ease off or maybe even pause rate rises in the new year?
